Distinguish between cost and effect
The first mistake that new players often encounter is confusing cost and effect with each other.
It is stated in the text that Lunalight monsters can only trigger effects if they are sent to the grave by a card's effect , these effects cannot be activated if they are sent to the grave for pay. COST for other cards.
Normally, you can easily tell whether the action of sending a card to the grave when a card activates is a cost or an effect thanks to the text of the card. The cost part of the card will be separated from the effect part by a semicolon (;). The action of sending a card to the grave if preceded by a sign (;) will be counted as COST.
Twin Twisters and Dark World Dealings (Discard is the effect and discard is the cost)
The Twin Twister card has the effect of destroying 1 or 2 spells/traps on the field at the cost of discarding 1 card from the hand, since the discard action is preceded by a semicolon (;). Dark World Dealings allows both players to draw 1 card, then discard 1 card from their hand to the grave, both of these actions are counted as effects because there is no action before the (;) .
Cherubini, Ebon Angel of the Burning Abyss and Foolish Burial (Sending from the deck to the grave is sometimes also a cost)
Foolish Burial allows you to send 1 monster from your deck to the grave as an effect because this action is not preceded by a (;). However, the act of sending a level 3 monster from the deck to Cherubini's grave, Ebon Angel of the Burning Abyss , is COST to perform the effect of increasing this monster's ATK. In addition, this monster also has another ability that helps you protect this monster from being destroyed by sending another card you control to the grave, the card sent to the grave will be counted as sent by the effect. response.
Number 101: Silent Honor ARK (detach raw material xyz)
Number 101 monster can capture the opponent's monster as xyz material for this card by detach 2 materials from this monster (with target), 2 materials are sent to the grave to pay COST to this effect. When Number 101 is in danger of being destroyed, you can detach 1 material from this monster instead of that destruction, this counts as an effect and the card sent to the Graveyard is considered sent. go to the grave by the card's effect.
Lunalight Kaleido Chick and Lunalight Emerald Bird (For Lunalight monsters)
Kaleido Chick's first effect allows you to use this monster on the field to replace fusion materials for a Lunalight monster by sending a Lunalight monster from your deck or extra deck to the grave as COST. Therefore, monsters sent from the deck to the grave by Kaleido Chick such as Yellow Marten or Emerald Bird will not be able to use their effects when sent to the grave.
With Emerald Bird , if this monster is normal/special summoned, you can send 1 Lunalight card from your hand to the Graveyard, and draw 1 card if you do. Since Emerald Bird 's action of dropping a card to the grave is not preceded by a (;), Lunalight cards can trigger effects sent to the grave by their effects. Furthermore, you can also send another Emerald Bird to the grave for Emerald Bird 's effect to be able to use both of her effects thoroughly.

Lunalight Wolf, Lunalight Tiger and Allure of Darkness (LIGHT-type Lunalight monsters)
Lunalight is a deck with most DARK-type monsters, so support for DARK-type monsters is an indispensable part. One of the drawing support cards most often seen in DARK decks is Allure of Darkness . This card allows you to draw 2, then discard 1 DARK monster from your hand, or send all cards in your hand to the Graveyard if you don't have a DARK-type monster in your hand to discard. So what needs to be noticed here?
Not all Lunalight monsters are DARK-type!! Tiger and Wolf are two LIGHT-type Lunalight monsters. Some of you will sometimes be confused about the systems of these two monsters. An easy way to remember is that the pendulum monsters of the Lunalight card family in the main deck will have the LIGHT system. Another interesting thing is that the name of each Lunalight monster is composed of a word for color and the name of an animal, only Tiger and Wolf do not have a word for color in the name.
Luna Light Perfume (Luna Light ...)
As an indispensable support card in the Lunalight deck, it is a shame that Luna Light Perfume is not a Lunalight card. With just a small space between Luna and Light, Perfume does not count as a card with the phrase “Lunalight” in its name.
This means that Luna Light Perfume cannot be taken from the deck into your hand with Yellow Marten and the only way you can use this card depends almost entirely on card draws. It seems that using this card's graveside effect is easier than using this card to revive a Lunalight monster from the grave, Tiger will replace Luna Light Perfume to complete this task. You have more ways to send Luna Light Perfume to the grave than drawing this card to your hand, you can send this card from your deck to the grave thanks to Foolish Burial Goods or Curious, the Lightsworn Dominion , and of course you won't. Luna Light Perfume can be used for Emerald Bird 's card draw effect.
One of the ways to counter Lunalight Fusion
Lunalight Fusion, Book of Moon and Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring (How to counter Lunalight Fusion)
As a deck whose main force is fusion monsters, it is not strange that Lunalight has a unique fusion support for its main card clan, Lunalight Fusion .
In addition to the ability to use fusion materials from your hand and on the field such as Polymerization , this card also allows you to use 1 Lunalight monster from your deck or extra deck as a fusion material if your opponent controls the monster. Animals are summoned from the extra deck.
When Lunalight Fusion is activated, this card's effect will always count as including the "send card from deck to grave effect" even if your opponent does not control any monsters summoned from extra deck. This is also an effect that can be disabled by an extremely famous hand trap and used in most current decks, Ash Blossom . For this reason, playing Lunalight purely in the fusion direction becomes more difficult when the deck has another version of Shaddoll Fusion that can be disabled at any time.
Additionally, the ability to send a Lunalight monster from the deck/extra deck to the Graveyard cannot be used if the opponent does not have a monster summoned from the extra deck at the time Lunalight Fusion resolves. This is also one of the ways to deal with this card if there are effects that cause that monster (summoned from the extra deck) to leave the field, being placed face down (changing to face-down Defense Position) before the card This resolves. In Duel Links, Book of Moon is a counter when facing Lunalight, this card will place monsters summoned from the extra deck face down.
Fusion summoning with "replacement material"
Cards that support the integration of the deck
Talking about fusion summons, it is impossible not to mention Polymerization , an extremely classic fusion summon support card in Yu-Gi-Oh!. In Lunalight, Polymerization can also be searched from the deck or picked up from the grave thanks to Lunalight cards, specifically Kaleido Chick , Black Sheep .
King of the Swamp is a monster that allows players to search for Polymerization from the deck by discarding this monster from their hand (cost). This monster has recently resurfaced thanks to Tearlaments decks that can utilize it as a name replacement fusion material and as an Aqua-type monster material for Tearlaments. After the recent Tearlaments hit, King of the Swamp has become even more important in the deck as it replaces Kitkallos to fusion summon Rulkallos .
King of the Swamp can give monsters the material that is the EXACT NAME of a monster
For example, to fusion summon Red-eyes Dark Dragoon using Polymerization , you need to have the fusion materials of 1 Dark Magician and 1 Red-Eyes Black Dragon (or 1 Dragon monster with effects).
With King of the Swamp , you will be more likely to fusion summon Dragoon :

Not all monsters can take advantage of King of the Swamp...
However, King of the Swamp cannot always replace material monsters. For fusion monsters that are listed in the text as “with above Fusion Materials” such as Naturia Exterio , King of the Swamp cannot be used as a monster that replaces the name of the fusion material and must be used instead. Use the correct materials as required.
Similarly, Lunalight monsters such as Panther Dancer and Leo Dancer, which are both listed in the card text as " Must be Fusion Summoned with the above Fusion Materials ", will also not be able to use King of the Swamp or other similar monsters. ( Muddy Mudragon ) to replace the name of the fusion material (substitute).
"Substitute" monsters for fusion materials cannot be used on "Must be ... the above Fusion Materials" monsters!!!
As for Kaleido Chick , this monster can still be used as a fusion material instead of Cat Dancer (when fusion summoning Panther Dancer ) or Panther Dancer (when fusion summoning Leo Dancer ).
And of course you cannot use Kaleido Chick to pay Kaleido Chick 's cost because... she cannot be "treated as" herself as a fusion material.
Other cards can be played with Lunalight
Polymerization (A classic card from YuGiOh!)
Polymerization is indispensable in the fusion-oriented strategy of this deck, this card can also be searched from the deck or retrieved from the grave thanks to Black Sheep and Kaleido Chick .
Fire Formation - Tenki and Allure of Darkness (Support searching/drawing cards)
Because it is an archetype with a large number of DARK Beast-Warrior monsters, Lunalight can take advantage of both good search/card draw supports in the game, Fire Formation – Tenki and Allure of Darkness .
Fire Formation – Tenki helps you take 1 additional level 4 or lower Beast-Warrior monster from your deck when activated. This is a card used in almost all decks that use Beast-Warrior monsters.
Allure of Darkness allows you to draw 2 cards, then discard 1 DARK monster from your hand. In case you cannot discard any monsters, send all cards in your hand to the Graveyard instead. This is a card that helps you increase your odds of drawing staple or non-searchable cards more easily.
and Foolish Burial Goods and Foolish Burial (Sometimes it's faster to "bury" than to search)
One way to access cards from other decks besides getting them into your hand is to send them from the deck to the grave. Of course, Foolish Burial is indispensable, a card that helps Lunalight monsters trigger effects and combos more smoothly, and Foolish Burial is also a card with no cost.
Luna Light Perfume , as I mentioned, this card has no way to search from the deck to hand. However, there is still a way to get this card from the deck to the grave to take advantage of this card's search effect with Foolish Burial Goods (once per turn). If you open your hand with Luna Light Perfume , it's great because you just get 1 Monster Reborn and 1 Tenki for Lunalight monsters, and don't forget that Luna Light Perfume is not limited to once per turn on any effect. of this card.

Clearly distinguish between COST and EFFECT
Cost and effect are two completely different things, usually cost will be placed before a semicolon (;).
Effect can be negated by other effects but cost cannot.
Always look carefully at the stat and text, including the name of the card
Although some cards are released, used, and the meaning of the card text is related to each other and sometimes belongs to the same archetype, they do not always support each other.
The “ABC” cards mentioned in the text can only be interacted with cards with the exact same name. Character changes (spaces, letter changes, special characters) will turn them into a completely different name and make these cards unable to interact and support each other.
Ash Blossom can disable the "include" effect in text
For effects like Lunalight Fusion , Shaddoll Fusion , although you are not eligible to use the ability to use materials from the deck of these cards, since this effect will be checked at resolution, Ash Blossom always has Their effects cannot be negated because these cards always "include" the action of sending cards from the deck to the grave.
Be careful with monsters that "substitute" for fusion materials
Monsters that can replace fusion materials can only be used to replace the exact name of a monster that is a fusion material.
These cards cannot be used as replacement materials if the fusion monster requires the exact original material (with the above Fusion Materials).
